Photo Gallery 1: April-May, 2007
May 12, 2007: I encountered Lee along Ohio State Route 303, about a mile east of
Peninsula, Ohio on Friday 11 May 2007.  I stopped to take photos and to chat. He said he
was way behind, so he was soon on his way.  I saw him again as he passed my home
just west of Shalersville, Saturday afternoon, 12 May 2007.  Truly a remarkable
gentleman.  We wish him Godspeed! Denny Goddard, Shalersville, OH
April 20, 2007: Hello. Sorry it took me so
long to get this picture sent. We met Lee
in Wabash, IN not too far from the
Walmart there. My husband (Gary) is in
the picture with Lee. We were really
interested in hearing his story. Just
happen to go to Walmart that day and
seen where he was camped.  We wish
him the best of luck. May God Bless him
and his companions and keep them safe.

May 7, 2007: "I've been following Lee's
progress across Ohio - he seems to be doing
great!  I love the sign that he now has on the
back of the wagon - tells people who he is
and where to find more information!  [These
are] pictures I took when Lee was a Rural
King in Decatur, Indiana.  Unfortunately, it
was late afternoon and the picture didn't turn
out too great.  The little girl petting Katie is
Lauren Bard, her mother (Esther Bard) is
kneeling beside her. Caitlynn Bard was
talking to Lee and has her back to the
camera. Esther is my daughter and Lauren &
Caitlynn are my granddaughters."  Nola

May 1, 2007: This is a picture of Tina and
Sandy by the sign they made for Lee when
he stopped in Tiffin, Ohio. The sign is
mounted on the back of Lee's wagon.
Many thanks to Tina Theobald for making
the sign and sending this picture!

May 2, 2007: These pictures were taken by
Nancy Carn on US. 224 just outside of Tiffin,
almost at St. Route 19.

"Lee was here in Van Wert, Ohio on
Thursday, April 26, 2007. He camped at
the Van Wert County Fairgrounds."

"While mowing yesterday I saw him coming down the road.  Camera ever ready, I just had
to take some shots of this, whatever it was. This was around 1:00 p.m. on US 24 three
miles west of Logansport, IN.  Today's paper had Lee's story and the link to his web site.
Very interesting and it'll be kinda neat to follow his progress now.  I'm sure he
appreciates your help."   Photos below contributed by

Notice the difference between Lee's pictures and donated pictures? Lee would like to have photos
of the areas he visits and the people he visits with; that is because he wants to always have
reminders and mementos of his great journey. The pictures people are sending in are of Lee and
his wagon! That's because Lee and his entourage are unique sights to people everywhere he
goes. It's a matter of perspective, of course.
"My husband came home from work
yesterday (5/19/2007) and had some
errands to run in town. He called me after
he left and said, "I think you need to go for
a ride, there is like a covered wagon of
sorts out here, you gotta see it!" So I
packed up the kids and off we went heading
east on St. Rt. 322 just outside of Conneaut
Lake, PA. What an amazing thing to see!  I
parked up the road a bit and waited on him
to get some pictures.  I did say "Hi!  That is
quite a trip!"  He replied, "Well, it keeps me
out of trouble." We watched him walk along
for a little bit and then ran home to check
out the web site. What an inspiration!  I
called a TV station and the local newspaper
to get the word out. He certainly is living a
lot of peoples' dreams."

May 15, 2007: Brad Bolton says "I heard about Lee on NPR Saturday morning, so I knew
he was in the area, and his lymphoma story.  I was hoping to see him, but my schedule
did not allow me to go out searching for him.  I'm a musician - Saturday night I had a gig
at a winery in Garrettsville, and was travelling rte. 88 to get to my gig.  I was stuck behind
traffic a few miles south of Garrettsville, something I've never experienced, and
wondered what could have caused this bottleneck.  Finally I saw Lee's wagon, and knew
I had stumbled upon the man I wanted to meet.  I parked my car about a quarter mile
ahead of Lee, ran back to him, took a few pics (enclosed), wished him well.  In that short
time I noticed that he was closing in on my parked car, so I had to run back and get out
of his way.  Please let him know that he enlightened my day."

12 May 2007 to 13 May 2007, Garrettsville, Ohio (Portage County): Lee arrived in town
around 7:45 p.m. on Saturday and left a little after 1:00 p.m. on Sunday. Lee received a
police escort into town by Garrettsville Police Department. Lee (and his traveling
companions) stayed the night in a field shared by Community Ambulance, Inc. and
Garrettsville Freedom Nelson Joint Fire District. After a "Delicious Dinner", according to
Lee, from a local restaurant, Lee returned to the EMS station to check his emails/
guestbook and then chat with the crew on duty. Lee, and the rest of the traveling crew,
posed for a picture before departing North on State Route 88 towards Bristolville, Ohio
(Trumbull County), where arrangements had been made for him to stay at Bristol Fire
Department. Lee was then escorted out of town again by Garrettsville Police Department.
Many residents of Garrettsville and surround communities stopped by to visit with Lee
and support him on his journey. Pictured in this photo are: Sgt. Anthony Milicia,
Garrettsville Police Department; James Hoffman, EMT-Basic, Community Ambulance, Inc.
& Garrettsville Freedom Nelson Joint Fire District; Jeffrey Kaiser, EMT-Intermediate &
Firefighter - Community Ambulance, Inc. & Garrettsville Freedom Nelson Joint Fire
District; and Christopher Sanchez, Lead Medic, Community Ambulance, Inc.
From Mr. E. F. Schulte of Ft. Jennings, OH:  "These pictures were taken west of Kalida,

in this journey."
